As the oldest daughter of a group of 4 siblings, I have always been a helper. Through working as a peer educator, volunteering with HopeWorks (the Howard County Domestic Violence Center), and generally being the momma of my friend groups (You need it? It’s in my giant purse!) I have had the privilege of making a career out of helping. My experience in private practice in Howard County started in 2007 when I completed graduate school. Alongside working in Baltimore City and County as a school based therapist and with foster children in Baltimore, I was able to broaden my experience as a therapist to include many perspectives that were different from my own.
My specialty and passion is in helping people untangle their relationships and remake them into safer and more satisfying places to be. I love working with individuals, couples, polycules, families, and any other group that wants to improve their relationship. I have a wide range of training including sex therapy, kink, Prepare/Enrich relationship assessment, Teletherapy, ethics, narrative therapy, parts work, and my Master’s degree is in the specialized field of couple and family therapy. I move in a client-centered way and will always remind you of your inherent worth and value!
I strive to make sessions a safe place to do difficult work and ensure that you are learning about coping skills and mindfulness along the way. I use humor, directness, sometimes cursing, a sprinkle of yelling, and always homework to support you as you look at yourself, your relationships, and figure out what you want. Our work together will be collaborative as we work as a team to get you set up for success! I strongly believe that self-disclosure and transparency are necessary to let clients know if a therapist will be a safe person to work with. You're always welcome to ask and I try to make sure I offer!
