Credentials & All the Feathered Facts
My journey into helping people started when my parents became registered through the state of Maryland to foster youth at age 13. I naturally became exposed to the in’s & out’s of the foster care system, and I learned so much about social services & local community resources. I grew fascinated with wanting to guide individuals towards services that would help improve their overall quality of life. I earned my graduate degree in Social Work from Morgan State University in 2012, and I have a plethora of experience working directly with individuals, families, and couples within a variety of settings including schools, hospitals, and outpatient programs.
Therapy (in my opinion) is a co-creative process that I approach in a holistic and practical way. By doing so, my client’s often feel understood and validated. It is my passion to help individuals “make things make sense” within their current situation/s. I have a wide range of experience assisting individuals (including LGBTQ+community) who present with symptoms associated with anxiety, depression, anger management, behavioral issues, life changes/transitions, addictions, trauma, and grief. My approach includes CBT, mindfulness, meditation, cultivating self compassion, the therapeutic use of humor, and emphasizing the human connection.
I offer a variety of techniques and tools aimed to inspire hope and change. My mission is to provide guidance to help unlock answers within you to create that change you’ve been manifesting. Together, we can work on achieving your goals and get you moving towards a fuller life. I’m thankful to my clients for allowing me to promote positive change within their lives!
